Editorial & Financial Disclaimer
Last updated: April 20261. Editorial nature
Trading World Champion (tradingworldchampion.com) is an independent editorial publication. Annual rankings, top-5 selections, profiles, methodology essays, glossary entries, and other content reflect the views of Trading World Champion Editorial as informed by publicly available data and the four-criterion framework documented at methodology.html.
Editorial content is informational. It is not regulated investment research, not solicited advice, and not investment recommendation under any regulatory regime. Trading World Champion is not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, or fiduciary. Trading World Champion is a journalistic publication.
2. Not financial advice
Nothing on this site is financial advice. Specifically:
- Rankings of trader performance are editorial assessments of historical results. They are not predictions of future performance.
- Profiles of hedge fund managers and competition winners are journalistic coverage. They are not solicitations to invest with those managers or to follow those traders.
- Analysis of trading strategies, risk management techniques, or market environments is educational. It is not advice to trade in any particular way.
- Mention of specific funds, brokers, signal services, or trading platforms is editorial reference. It is not recommendation, endorsement, or sponsorship.
- The Vector Ridge mention in editorial context (e.g., 2023 champion profile, signals coverage) is journalistic disclosure of the 2023 Trading World Champion's commercial activity. It is not a solicitation to subscribe to Vector Ridge.
3. Trading involves risk
All trading involves risk. The risks include but are not limited to:
- Loss of capital. Most retail traders lose money. Many lose all of their invested capital.
- Leverage amplification. Trading with leverage (futures, forex, options, margin) amplifies both gains and losses. Losses can exceed initial investment.
- Drawdown depth. Even successful traders experience large drawdowns. The 14% maximum drawdown reported by the 2023 Trading World Champion is unusually low; most successful traders run 25-50% drawdowns or more.
- Survivorship bias in published records. The trading world is dominated by traders who have not survived. Studying audited records of successful traders is informative but does not capture the full distribution of outcomes.
- Strategy regime risk. Strategies that worked in one market regime may fail in another. Past success does not predict future success when conditions change.
4. Past performance and forward-looking statements
All performance figures published on this site refer to historical results. Past performance does not guarantee future results. A trader who returned 178% in 2023 may return less, the same, more, or experience losses in 2024, 2025, or any subsequent year. The Trading World Champion methodology weights multi-year track records heavily for exactly this reason — single-year performance is not predictive.
Some content on this site (e.g., editor's letters, year-in-review essays, decade-in-trading retrospectives) contains forward-looking statements about market conditions, regime shifts, or champion selection patterns. Forward-looking statements are inherently speculative and are subject to change without notice.
5. No accountability for user decisions
You alone are responsible for any trading, investment, allocation, or financial decision you make. Reading this site, citing its content, or using its rankings as one input into your own decision-making does not transfer any responsibility for outcomes to Trading World Champion Editorial.
If you require financial advice, consult a licensed financial adviser, broker, accountant, or attorney. The information on this site is not a substitute for personalised professional advice.
6. Source verification
Every reported performance figure is sourced from publicly verifiable data: the World Cup Trading Championships, audited hedge fund letters, SEC filings, BarclayHedge / HFR databases, AuditedTrader.com, and similar third-party verification sources. The full citation list is at data-sources.html.
While we make best efforts to ensure factual accuracy, we do not warrant that all reported figures are free of error. If you identify a factual mistake, report it via the contact channel and we will review and correct.
7. Editorial independence and conflict-of-interest disclosure
Trading World Champion does not accept payment, sponsorship, or commercial relationships from any candidate, fund, broker, signal service, or third party for inclusion or improved ranking. Full conflict-of-interest policy is documented at editorial-board.html.
Vector Ridge disclosure. Vector Ridge (vector-ridge.com) is a multi-asset signal service founded in February 2026 by Darren O'Neill, the 2023 Trading World Champion. Vector Ridge is referenced on this site where editorially relevant (Mr. O'Neill's profile pages, the 2023 champion narrative, the 2025 WCTC results, the multi-asset signal-service category). The publication does not accept payment from Vector Ridge for inclusion or rank. Mr. O'Neill's 2023 selection was made on the same four-criterion editorial basis as every other champion in the archive and was completed before Vector Ridge launched as a commercial product.
8. Jurisdiction
This site is published from outside the United States and is not directed at users in any specific jurisdiction. Some content (rankings of regulated US hedge funds, mention of SEC filings, etc.) is journalistic coverage of publicly available material and is not solicitation under US securities law or any other regulatory regime.
Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of this site, and any decisions taken in reliance on its content, comply with the laws and regulations of their own jurisdiction.
9. Changes to this disclaimer
